چکیده
We report a theoretical and experimental investigation of the propagation nonlinear waves passing over submerged rectangular step. A multimodal method allows calculating first- second-order reflected transmitted waves. In particular, at second order, free bound is theoretically presented. detailed analysis convergence problem shows that finite truncation series evanescent necessary to obtain smooth convergent solution. The computed coefficients first harmonics are experimentally validated via complete space-time-resolved measurements wave propagation, which permits us verify relative amplitude, phase spatial interference (beating) order. This result can be useful in future models since it not only keeps accuracy model with inclusion part terms (being also dominants) but ensures computation an error decreases as function number modes.

Experimental analysis of shock waves turbulence in contractions with rectangular sections
Formation of shock waves has an important role in supercritical flows studies. These waves are often occurring during passage of supercritical flow in the non-prismatic channels. In the present study, the effect of length of contraction wall of open-channel for two different geometries (1.5 m and 0.5 m) and fixed contraction ratio was investigated on hydraulic parameters of shock waves using ex...
متن کاملnumerical simulation and experimental validation of free surface sloshing in a rectangular tank
free surface sloshing of liquid in a rectangular tank induced by lateral excitation has been studied numericallyand experimentally in this paper. the numerical simulation is carried out based on the volume of fluid (vof) method that provides free surface extraction in such problem. a tank with transparent walls is used to free surface tracking in experimental study while the movement amplitude ...
متن کاملA High-Order Spectral Method for Nonlinear Water Waves over Moving Bottom Topography
We present a numerical method for simulations of nonlinear surface water waves over variable bathymetry. It is applicable to either twoor three-dimensional flows, as well as to either static or moving bottom topography. The method is based on the reduction of the problem to a lower-dimensional Hamiltonian system involving boundary quantities alone. A key component of this formulation is the Dir...
متن کاملNonlinear energy harvesting through a multimodal electro-mechanical system
A semi-analytical method is used to illustrate the behavior of a multimodal nonlinear electromechanical system which is under base-excitation. System is considered as piezo-ceramic patches attached to a cantilever beam coupled to a resistive load. The cantilever beam is modeled as a nonlinear Timoshenko beam using Assumed Mode method and equations of motion are derived through Lagrange's equati...
